CEO Mark Manasse, Ph.D.: As a dedicated and passionate educator, program director, and entrepreneur, I offer a track record of achievement in driving innovation in consulting, program management, and course development with over 25 years of experience nationally and abroad. My goal is to develop programs that empower employee and student success through exceptional training, learning, and leadership development. I recently co-founded Thinkist, serving as Chief Education Officer. This edtech startup provides leadership training to high school students to operate as tutors in math through an online platform. Additionally, I develop and deliver training materials to cultivate leadership and educational expertise with various community, business, and educational leaders across the US. I simultaneously direct a cross-curriculum academic program for one of the largest community colleges in California while also supporting the development of a newly established Education Department. Additionally, I have developed and instructed a range of courses for both undergraduate and graduate students. I have taught courses in English, ESL, and education in the San Diego Community College District where I serve as a full professor, and graduate courses in methodology, social justice, and assessment at the University of San Diego. A few of my leadership experiences include serving as board member for multiple national academic programs as well as co-founding the Learning Assistant Project (LAP), a statewide community of practice focused on professionalizing higher ed learning assistance. I have been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences and have presented at state, national, and international education and student success conferences, including the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity (NCORE) and the International Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Conference. I earned my Ph.D. in Leadership at the University of San Diego, a Master’s in TESOL at The Monterey Institute of International Studies, and a Bachelor’s in English from UC Berkeley. I am a three-time ironman, and enjoy spending time with my wife and son in my freetime. I usually also enjoy spending time with our puppy, Mr. Anderson. However, sometimes, I do not enjoy spending time with Mr. Anderson. If you have ever had a puppy, you know what I mean.
